Dharma Dummies
A Lost podcast for dummies.
Dharma Dummies

And like that... It's gone.

Yes, for those few who were lucky enough to get the new Dharma experiment to load properly, an extremely lame puzzle was to be solved. But alas, all good things must come to an end. So, after functionally sporadically for a 12 hour window www.dharmawantsyou.com crashed and is now updating... again.

With this staggeringly boring development, I feel comfortable launching our new Octagon Global Recruiting website http://dharmadoesntwantyou.blogspot.com. Let the kvetching begin!

Test 1 is finally released!

This morning we received an email telling us about the card that we can carry with pride (thanks, Hans), and that test 1 is up.  In the email it quotes an alert:  "Batteries Ice Pint".  The ODI have anagramed it to say Patience is bitter.  I had trouble loading the test the first time but finally got in and it was...a tangram.  How fast can you put the pieces in the box to make a square?  I had just woken up, so my reflexes were a little slow, but I got a 27 the first try.  I hope to go back and retry if it will ever load again (it's still clunky).  The test changes everytime, so it's ok to look.  I got a 60 the second time around.

You've got to be kidding me.

Why am I checking www.dharmawantsyou.com at this hour? Simple, my computer just finished an massive spam/virus sweep and I thought, "What the heck? Maybe they've changed something."

And indeed, the Dharma people have updated their website... with another "update" notice.

As many Dummy listeners know, our podcasts often encounter numerous production delays (Mr. Eko's analysis has been trapped inside a polar bear cave for the last week). But we try put out our best effort as quick as we possibly can. What the hell is Hoodlum's excuse for this ARG? They are getting paid by ABC or one of their subsidiaries, correct?

Did Darlton forget to send them their notes? Are their programmers scrambling madly around their offices like hung-over freshmen that haven't attended class in two months, but find themselves staring down a final exam?  To quote the great Hugo Reyes,

"I WANT SOME FRIGGIN' ANSWERS!!!"

Dharma gives us.... ID cards!!!

If you login on www.dharmawantsyou.com and go to your profile page it now contains a "download card" button. You can save and print your very own Dharma Initiative identification badge. I would say that I'm ecstatic, but I don't want to undersell it.

Can we please have those volunteer assessments now? It is technically 8/19.

Dharma release date and Comic-Con email!

After clicking on the Dharma site 108 times, I finally got into the login screen and the date has been revealed as Tuesday, August 19th!  Check out the screen caps below!

Also, here's a screencap of the Comic-Con exclusive email.  I haven't noticed anything in the email's source code.

On this episode of the long overdue edition Grandma Dharma weighs in on Lost's similarities to the Prisoner. She also tackles Juliet's trustworthiness, whether Sawyer has matured over the course of the series and who's moved on from the corporeal realm. Enjoy.

And the testing date is...never?

We received communication this morning by email saying to go to the site to check the day of testing.  When we arrive at Dharmawantsyou.com we find...a blank blue screen.  What's up with that?

Dharma needs an upgrade.

Does anyone know of any internet security firms that don't mind working in a shroud of extreme secrecy? I'm guessing a willingness to "travel" is also a prerequisite to the job too.

I get that this ARG has to last about twice as long, but... come on. I'm willing to wait for a long time, but the next update better not be a newer version of Joop the orangutan. Although now that I'm thinking about it, "Joop 2.3: The Quest for Hanso," might be interesting... it all depends on who they would cast to play the jujitsu-trained ape assassin.

Dharma Dummies Episode 19: Charlie Pace Character Analysis Part 2

Download | Duration: 00:58:40

On the conclusion to our Charlie analysis we discuss his redemption and his untimely end. We banter about Hostess food products in the afterlife, some of our favorite "shipper" moments of all time and (for some ungodly reason) Nikki and Paulo.

Enjoy.
